Three Parameters Of Decanter Centrifuge

Decanter centrifuge (full name horizontal spiral sedimentation discharge centrifuge) can be adjusted parameters: rotating drum speed, the difference speed between the spiral and the rotating drum, the depth of the liquid pool.

1. Drum speed
The ratio of the settling velocity of solid particles in the suspension of the drum under centrifugal force to the settling velocity under gravity is called the separation factor.

Different separation factors are selected for different materials and operating conditions. If the solid particle size of the material is small, the difference between solid and liquid density is small, and the liquid viscosity is large (low temperature), the separation factor is selected higher; The material solid particle size is large, the difference between solid and liquid density is large, the liquid viscosity is small (high temperature), and the separation factor of automatic centrifuge is low. If flocculant is added in the separation process, the separation factor can be lower.

2. The difference in speed between the screw and the drum
To stabilize the differential speed between the screw and the drum, the decanter centrifuge is equipped with a differential. When the drum speed is unchanged, changing the speed of the differential input shaft can adjust the difference speed between the screw and the drum, and then adjust the separation effect of the decanter centrifuge.

Under other conditions, when the differential speed is low, the spiral push speed will be reduced, the residence time of the solid phase in the dehydration zone will be increased, and the solid phase with lower moisture content can be obtained. Because the spiral push speed is reduced, its push can be reduced, and the liquid phase clarity will be reduced. And vice versa.

3. liquid pool depth
The interval between the liquid level in the drum and the wall of the drum is the "height" of the liquid level, which is called the depth of the drum pool. The inner diameter of the overflow plate is different, the depth of the liquid pool is different, and the length of the dewatering zone and the settling zone in the rotary drum is also different, which changes the sedimentation dewatering capacity of the centrifuge.

Under the condition that other conditions remain unchanged, the use of a larger inner diameter overflow plate will reduce the depth of the liquid pool, shorten the length of the settling zone, and reduce the settling capacity of the centrifuge. However, it will increase the length of the dehydration zone, increase the dehydration time of the solid phase, and improve the dehydration performance of the decanter centrifuge. And vice versa.
